Effective immediately, Waymaker has elevated Keri Curtis Axel and Teresa Huggins to partnership. Keri practices white-collar criminal and government enforcement defense, as well as complex civil litigation. Teresa represents individual and corporate clients at all stages of complex commercial litigation in both state and federal trial and appellate courts.

A former federal prosecutor and SEC enforcement attorney, Keri draws on her considerable experience to help clients navigate investigations and fight criminal charges or government enforcement actions around the country. She regularly represents clients in investigations by state and federal agencies, including the DOJ, SEC, CFPB, FTC, and the California Attorney General. She has broad experience in matters involving allegations of securities violations, public corruption, tax fraud or evasion, procurement fraud, and consumer finance violations.
Keri also represents executives, entrepreneurs, and financial services professionals and companies in FINRA matters and in general civil litigation. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
Teresa handles complex commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate level, with an emphasis on intellectual property and fintech matters. She has significant experience litigating business disputes, and has represented executives, entrepreneurs, investors and companies. Prior to joining Baker Marquart, Teresa worked in Simpson Thacher’s New York office. She also spent several years in-house in the media and entertainment industry, where she advised on a wide variety of legal issues. This experience allows Teresa to better understand and address client needs.
She received her law degree from Harvard Law School. Teresa clerked for the Honorable Dale S. Fischer in the Central District of California. She is admitted to practice in both New York and California.
