Scott Malzahn Recognized for Contributions to Equality California

Scott Malzahn recently was recognized by San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and California Assemblymember Christopher Ward for his contributions to Equality California as president of the prominent LGBTQ+ civil rights organization.

Scott said, “It has been an honor and privilege to work so closely with Executive Director Tony Hoang and his incredible staff.”

This past year, Equality California worked with its partners to permanently enshrine marriage equality in the California Constitution, expanded out-LGBTQ+ representation to a historic 12% of the California legislature, and expanded access to fertility care for LGBTQ+ people seeking to build families.

Though Scott stepped down from the president role at the end of his term, he will continue to remain in its leadership as the group’s treasurer.
